“Our journey began with a simple realization: the freshest coffee comes straight from the origin”
Our Story
Hi! My name is Eduardo Umaña.
I am a coffee entrepreneur from Colombia. I was inspired to start Origin Roasted because I simply couldn’t find any coffee in the U.S. that matched the taste of the coffee I purchased back home. The difference? Specialty coffee in producing countries is roasted while still freshly harvested, making a big difference in aroma and taste.
That revelation inspired Origin Roasted, our groundbreaking venture that's reshaping the coffee industry by roasting recently harvested coffee right at the origin, ensuring a fresher and fairer cup for all.

Notes of Red Fruit, Blackberry, and Sweetness
Danilo Pérez comes from a family with deep roots in Colombian coffee and has spent more than two decades in the industry. He and his family work across several farms in Huila, one of Colombia’s renowned specialty coffee regions. Among them, the family farm in Garzón stands out for its focus on producing high-quality coffee.
Around 8 years ago, Danilo began exploring new processing methods and fermentation techniques. One of his efforts became “Caturra 120 Horas,” a coffee built around an extended 120-hour fermentation designed to explore new flavors.
This month’s coffee is one of our more adventurous selections, shaped by this extended fermentation process. The result is a cup that reflects both tradition and forward-thinking experimentation.

The Harvest Challenge
In the U.S., coffee marketing often emphasizes roast freshness. But what about freshness off harvest? At the origin we know this is equally important. See influencers taste-test freshly harvested coffee – the results might surprise you.
