The Harvest Challenge
In the U.S., coffee marketing often emphasizes roast freshness. But what about freshness off harvest? At the origin we know this is equally important. See influencers taste-test coffee from two different harvests – the results might surprise you.
The Origin Roasted Difference
Freshly Harvested. Freshly Roasted.
We do things differently: we roast coffee right where it’s grown and right after harvest, delivering freshness and taste you’ve never experienced before.
Empower communities in producing countries
By roasting coffee at origin, we are providing communities direct access to the value-added process of roasting. This creates jobs and keeps profits local. It's a fairer, better way to enjoy your coffee.

This lot comes from the cooperative Tinamit, located on the slopes of Atitlán, Guatemala. The group places strong emphasis on preserving the remarkable natural beauty of the lake and is committed to environmentally sustainable production.
Tinamit has been refining its approach to the honey process, and their attention to detail and strict quality standards have paid off. Each delivery is checked to ensure the cherries are fully ripe, with floaters sorted out before depulping. The coffee is sun-dried for 5–6 days, and then the honey coffee is moved to shade-covered raised beds to finish drying slowly and evenly. Throughout the process, the coffee is carefully turned to ensure thorough and consistent results.

“Our journey began with a simple realization: the freshest coffee comes straight from the origin”
Our Story
Hi! My name is Eduardo Umaña.
I am a coffee entrepreneur from Colombia. I was inspired to start Origin Roasted because I simply couldn’t find any coffee in the U.S. that matched the taste of the coffee I purchased back home. The difference? Specialty coffee in producing countries is roasted while still freshly harvested, making a big difference in aroma and taste.
That revelation inspired Origin Roasted, our groundbreaking venture that's reshaping the coffee industry by roasting recently harvested coffee right at the origin, ensuring a fresher and fairer cup for all.
