Daniel Chilcón’s coffee journey began in Peru, where coffee was once primarily grown by large landowners. During the 1980s, as many people migrated toward the country’s western jungle regions and the coffee market expanded, Daniel learned the coffee business and developed his knowledge of the crop.
In 2020, Daniel returned to his hometown of Cayalluc to grow the crop he had spent years learning about. There, at an elevation of 1,900 meters, he established a small Gesha farm that brings together the high elevations of the Andes and the tropical environment of the nearby jungle.
Today, coffee remains a family tradition. Daniel’s sons now work with coffee as well, continuing a connection to the crop that’s already lasted for generations.

Our Story
Hi! My name is Eduardo Umaña.
I am a coffee entrepreneur from Colombia. I was inspired to start Origin Roasted because I simply couldn’t find any coffee in the U.S. that matched the taste of the coffee I purchased back home. The difference? Specialty coffee in producing countries is roasted while still freshly harvested, making a big difference in aroma and taste.
That revelation inspired Origin Roasted, our groundbreaking venture that's reshaping the coffee industry by roasting recently harvested coffee right at the origin, ensuring a fresher and fairer cup for all.
