With Quintal No. 12 we are introducing our first-ever coffee from Costa Rica. We picked a coffee from West Valley–perhaps the most iconic coffee producing region in Costa Rica as most Cup of Excellence placements hail from the region.

We were astonished by the sweetness in this particular coffee right from the first interaction: the aroma, the first sip, and later the pleasing panela aftertaste this honey processed coffee leaves in the palate. Nothing reflects sweetness and body like a well processed honey, and this particular coffee is the prime example of that.

The farmer behind this extraordinary coffee is Francisco Mena. He is both a farmer and the genius behind Exclusive Coffees Costa Rica. Francisco works side by side with micro lot producers across the country. This coffee was his personal recommendation to introduce Costa Rica to Quintal Subscription.
