Cusco, Peru – Amongst its many virtues, Cusco was the capital of the ancient Incan Empire, is an UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is home to one of the most stunning high altitude coffees we have tried. At 1750 m.a.s.l, in the heart of the Andes mountains, you will find Andres Lancho and his finca “San Andrés.”
Andrés has being growing coffee in Cusco for a generation. Through hard work and improving his coffee, he was able to put his son through college. Father and son are now trying to go up the supply chain to further improve their farm’s coffee and their livelihoods.
This month’s coffee was recently harvested in September and will be freshly hulled and roasted just days before its final delivery. By the time it lands at your doorstep, it will be at its optimal point. Expect raspberry, chocolate, and hazelnut notes with hints of cinnamon–all wrapped in a sweet and silky body unique to the Cusco region.
Roasted by Alberto Rivas, Q Grader, in Lima, Peru.
